Cormorants and a gull perched on some old sea defence posts at Happisburgh, East Norfolk. There are literally hundreds of sea defences put up over the years to defend Happisburgh (pronounced “Haze-bruh” – no idea why) from coastal erosion. They have, sadly been losing the battle and many of the cliff top houses have fallen into the sea and all that remains are bits of old plumbing and electrical cables sticking out of the cliffs.
